Liturgical Year

The liturgical year is the cycle that determines when different seasons of the Church, holy days and feast days are observed, and which scripture is read.

Aside from the readings, the Liturgical Calendar also links colours with different Seasons.

We celebrate Mass in school at different points in the school year, such as on special feast days if we are in school and special times in the liturgical year of the church.

For all other information relating to Catholic Life in our school, refer to the menu on the left.

We use the Extra-Ordo-Nary document which acts like a calendar, helping us to know what season, feast day or celebration takes place on each day.

The children ensure that the prayer table in each classroom is updated regularly to link to the liturgical year. Some events and celebrations which take place within the liturgical year include: Crowning of Mary, Nativity Productions, Stations of the Cross, Distribution of Ashes, Easter Production and Advent Adoration.
